Weekly Winners: March 30-April 5

wwfinal.jpg

I was all about the cherry tree in our front yard this week. I took a few other pictures, too, but the cheery tree was the big thing. I photographed the tree Wednesday through Saturday.

April 2…

First buds…

First blooms…

Budding and blooming all over…

The center of the large bloom is, by intention, the only thing in sharp focus.

April 3…

See all the pollen?

Shooting into the sky….

April 4…

Raindrops…

April 5…

I took this one standing directly under the blooms…

Late bloomers on this “bunch”…

Late bloomer

First bloom bites the dust…

First bloom bites the dust

Other shots taken today…

Azalea that is growing in and around the cherry tree….

Azaleas just starting to bud.

Lone dogwood bloom, taken when we were at Stone Mountain this evening, just before sunset.

Thanks so much, Amy. I had a blast taking them. Is Maine any closer to spring now? (I’m a little behind in responding to last week’s Weekly Winners, huh?!)

Man, spring better get here after seeing all that! I miss the color, and that faint sweet smell of baby flower buds right after rain!

    Lovely set this week.

Thanks! πŸ™‚ It’s amazing… since I’ve started taking photos how I see EVERYTHING so much more clearly. Does that make any sense?
